Today Kerrygold and Tryfon Tseriotis are celebrating the Irish heritage and culture and are wishing you Happy St.Patrick’s day!
The 17th of March is celebrated as a public holiday in Ireland. Saint Patrick’s Day was made an official Christian feast day to commemorate Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. The shamrock is used as a symbol of the holiday, as according to the legend, it was used by St.Patrick to explain the Holy Trinity to the Irish.
The green colour and the shamrock remind us that Kerrygold, which has been around since 1962, has its roots in Ireland’s nature, farming, purity and quality of milk. Ireland’s temperate climate provides one of the longest grass-growing seasons in the world. For over 6,000 years Ireland has been in the business of dairy farming, with farmland and traditional methods passed down from generation to generation. Even today the cows graze outdoors for more than 10 months of the year. It is clear that Ireland..is made for butter.
So, today is the day to celebrate Ireland’s lush grass that gives us the great tasting butter that we call Kerrygold!
