A new cooperation was made with dietician-clinical nutritionist Christina Papadopoulou Fessas and Weetabix.
Christina who has two young children of her own needed to find new ways to urge them to eat healthy and exercise. This helped her come up with the idea of a program where she visits nurseries and schools to teach other young children the importance of eating healthy and exercising through a fun and entertaining show.
During the 1 ½ hour program which is also approved by the Ministry of Education of Cyprus, apart from explaining to children the importance of exercising on a daily basis, eating a balanced meal, reading food labels and avoiding sugar, she presents to them healthy breakfast options including Weetabix.
Weetabix is an excellent breakfast choice which is recommended by nutritionist as it is a nutritionally packed, tasty breakfast that’s brimming with wholegrain and versatile too. It helps give your amazing body what it needs to take on the day. And here’s what’s inside…
- 100% wholegrain
- High in fibre
- Low in sugar, salt and fat
- Fortified with Thiamin (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin, Folic Acid and iron
- 136 kcal per two biscuit serving, 362kcal/100g
All the above is presented to children in an interactive way through songs, dance and games. At the end of the show, children are given a goodie bag containing a Weetabix Original sachet and leaflet to take home. The leaflet contains the nutritional information and healthy recipes using Weetabix.
During the past school semester, Christina has visited 42 schools and over 1,500 children have watched her show.
Weetabix will continue to be a proud sponsor also for the next school semester. Well done Christina on your initiative!
